One of the most exciting parts of being a beauty blogger is having the opportunity to try upcoming beauty products and tools before they are widely available. The new HiMirror is just such a product! HiMirror is a smart mirror designed to analyze your skin, and track how effective your skin care products are. Ultimately, you will be able to see if that new brightening serum you are using is working. Pretty amazing, right?!
Pardon the mug shot looking pic below. You obviously need to use the mirror makeup free, and I was afraid the mirror would pick up more fine lines than I actually have if I smiled.
The HiMirror weighs 5.5lbs, and is meant to be mounted to a wall or mirror. I chose to prop it against some acrylic makeup holders on my desk in my office. The mirror comes with detailed instructions to set up your new device. It’s easy, and should take around 15 minutes.
- Turn on your new HiMirror and download the HiMirror App on your cell phone. Register for a new account.
- Locate your HiMirror in your cell, and pair your mirror with your phone. Connect to your wireless network.
- Set up facial and voice recognition in the HiMirror.
- You’re ready for your skin assessment!
The HiMirror assesses red spots, pores, brightness, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and dark circles. You can choose which condition to focus on, and change at any time. The HiMirror has a sensor near the base of the unit, and runs completely by hand motions. You slide your hand from left to right, or up and down to move between screens. This has been a bit tricky to get the hang of for me.
With the recent update, I’ve also been able to get a complete skin analysis marking my problem areas. There have been several software updates already to the HiMirror, and I know they are hard at work getting some fun new features up and running as well. There will be more info to come on those upgrades in the coming weeks. I am excited to be testing out this cool new gadget, and look forward to using it for a longer period of time and sharing my thoughts with you.
I’m really looking forward to tracking my skin daily, and to see what changes I can make to strive for my best possible skin.
