Have you heard about the Sephora Play subscription? For $10 a month you’ll get about 6 deluxe sized samples, tips and tricks on using the products, video tutorials, an invite to a Play Event at a Sephora hopefully near you, and a card to get 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a Sephora purchase.
I signed up for this box last fall, and was on the waitlist until May. It looks like there is currently still a wait list. They also only ship to the US, and not AK or HI on top of that. Hopefully Sephora will be able to ship to more reigons once they get the kinks worked out. Personally, I’ll give it another month or two but I’m not sure it’s worth it. I feel like I just have more of a selection of the 100 point samples than in store at this point. Last month’s bag was more impressive, but I’m feeling a little “meh” about June.
Here’s what was included in June’s bag; The Minimalists.
Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It – This creme is said to add body and enhance texture in air dried hair. I haven’t tried this, and am curious about how it will work on my hair that looks awful when I don’t dry it. Great idea for Summer!
Bareminerals bareSkin Bronzer – A liquid serum bronzer that can be used alone, mixed with foundation, or used for natural contouring according to the paper from Sephora. I haven’t tried this, but I’m always wary of serum like makeup products on my oily skin. I will try it, and let you know.
Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara – This mascara is wildly popular, but I can’t get it to be anything but clump city on my lashes. It’s a good one for the giveaway drawer!
BECCA Backlight Priming Filter – This is a beautiful luminous product. I have the full size and it’s so glowy I can only use it as a liquid highlight, not all over. If you have dry skin and love a serious all over glow, definitely try this! In the tips, it says you can use it as an eye primer and lip primer, which I hadn’t thought to do. I’ll have to give it a try because my bottle is feeling very unloved. I’ll save this mini for a giveaway.
Tarte Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen – I haven’t tried this yet, but it will be handy as it’s a mineral sunscreen with only titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. It doesn’t have a sunscreen stink, and actually has a bit of a manly scent. I’ll try it under makeup, because it doesn’t seem overly greasy when I swatched it. Personally, I’d rather not get spf products in a beauty sub bag, just because I’m so picky about what I use.
Tocca Beauty Florence perfume – Tocca is a perfume brand that I love, and have several scents from. I’m always down for trying a new perfume, and love sample vials. This fragrance has notes of bergamot, violet petals, and blonde wood. It’s a beautiful Summery floral.
So what do you think of this month’s bag? If you’ve been getting the Sephora Play subscription for a while, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
