Incase you aren’t familiar with the company, Rodan+Fields, it was founded by two dermatologists (the same behind Proactiv) and has become well-known in the skin care industry the last couple of years. I’ve been testing the Rodan+Fields Redefine regimen, along with the Acute Care patches for two months. The Redefine consists of four products.
Daily Cleansing Mask is a creamy kaolin based mask with gentle dimethicone microbeads. This unique cleanser is used as a scrub, then left on for about two minutes before rinsing.
The Pore Minimizing Toner is alcohol free and contains exfoliating poly-hydroxy acids and oligosaccharides to reduce the appearance of pores.
The Refine Triple Defense Treatment is a daily moisturizer with spf 30, from stabilized avobenzone and free radical fighting carotenoids for broad spectrum UVA/UBV protection. It contains hyaluronic acid and dimethicone to moisturize and soothe.
The Overnight Restorative Cream is my favorite of the regimen, with its niacinamide and peptide packed formula. Hyaluronic acid and glycerin help to maintain moisture for 12 hours, releasing antioxidants A, C and E. This cream also works really well under makeup on my dry skin.
The Acute Care are strips containing only two ingredients; hyaluronic acid to plump wrinkles and smooth and hydrate skin. Sh-Oligopeptide-1 reduces the appearance of wrinkles increases firmness and skin elasticity. I was impressed with these little patches, which I used on the side of my eyes, where I am beginning to see signs of aging. They use Liquid Cone technology to melt the active ingredients into the wrinkle or line. They are a little pokey when you first put them on, and I would compare it to a derma roller (micro needling) if you’ve tried that.
Rodan+Fields recommends using these 2-3 times per week, but I found I had to space it out a bit more or my skin would get irritated.
My overall impression of this system is that it may be better suited to someone who has more signs of aging. I did like the Restorative Cream and the Acute Care, but honestly I don’t think it’s something I’d repurchase. It appears from the website that the Redefine Regimen is sold as a set. The same goes for the Acute Care patches. The products were quite fragranced, which is something that doesn’t typically bother me, but in this case it did.
