One of my favorite self tanner brands, Beautisol, will be on sale on zulily.com this weekend. I love the lotion and mousse, and the Tea Tan Glow is amazing too! Make sure you grab it before it’s bare legs weather!!
Happy Valentine’s Day loves! Any special plans today? I’m snowed in with the kids (again), but if the roads are better hubby and I hope to get out to dinner tonight. I’m really looking forward to getting out! I haven’t done Friday Favorites in a while. I thought it would be great to be able to mention some products I’ve been loving lately, that I haven’t had a chance to review.
First up is Beautisol Dark Self Tan Lotion. Sort of a cheat, because this is always on my favorites list! It just can’t be beat to give your winter skin a healthy glow! I’ve been using self-tanner on my face all the time lately. I find that it really evens out my complexion. I have some hyper-pigmentation that is taking forever to fade, and Beautisol evens my skin out so I don’t have to pile on too much concealer and foundation. My favorite way to apply Beautisol to my face, chest and hands is with my ELF Studio flat top powder brush. It’s so easy, and turns out flawless everytime! Do you ever use a makeup brush to apply self tanner?
I’ve been using Hada Labo Anti Aging Hydrator with Super Hyaluronic Acid most days, post toning, pre face cream. It’s given my dry skin the extra little boost it needed in our super cold and windy weather. I purchased this at ULTA. You can use your coupons on it, and it goes on sale relatively often.
Another skin care line I’ve been testing is from Racinne USA. Relatively new to the US, this Korean skin care line contains the best ingredients and formulas, at what I consider to be a very reasonable price. I know looks aren’t everything, but I do really love the packaging! The jars have a pearly glow to them, and a luxe feel. I have been using two products from the Ultimate Hydra Perfection line, the Essentialift Supplement Serum and the Advanced Luminous Gel. Both have given my skin an immediate moisture boost and glow. I was pleased to see such immediate results! While I find them both to be moisturizing, the formulas are quite light and would also be great on skin that isn’t dry like mine.
Victoria’s Secret Cleansing Bath & Shower Oil in Passion Struck is a new shower gel-oil hybrid. I’d describe it as a lightly foaming bath oil. I can’t tell you how much I love this! It’s making my dry skin very happy! The Passion Struck scent is Fuji Apple and Vanilla. It’s nice and not over powering at all.
I’ve professed my love for Hask hair care before, and this week I’ve been testing the Keratin Protein line. I love the shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioning mask. The Smoothing Shine Oil is wonderful. It’s a light oil that doesn’t weight my hair down a bit. I use it after my shower, then again after I flat iron to smooth the ends.
Last, and certainly not least is the Lemon and Cream Hair & Body mist from be Delectable. I absolutely love every.single.product in the be Delectable line. You can find be Delectable at Kohl’s.
Have you tried any of these favorites of mine? I’d love to hear what you are loving this week!
“Hi! I’m Oliver, and sometimes I’m too helpful!”

My favorite self tanner is the Medium Self-Tanning Mousse for Body with Pure Scent Technology. This super fast drying tinted mousse works perfectly, even if I am in a hurry! It’s a breeze to apply with the Beautisol applicator mitt. I have to mention the scent, because no one likes that baked smell so many self tanners will give you. Beautisol’s self tanners contain Pure Scent technology, so you will not stink while you’re getting your glow on!!
If you prefer a lotion over a mousse formula, the dark self tanning lotion is fabulous! Beautisol’s Tea Tan Glow is a product unlike any bronzer I’ve tried. It’s not a self tanner, but a wash off bronzer with tea extracts. It leaves a lovely golden olive glow, with no scent. It doesn’t transfer to clothes either! My favorite way to apply is with my flat top blending brush from ELF’s studio line. I even use this on my face, under my makeup. It looks flawless every time!
Now that you have no excuse for looking pasty this winter, go get your Beautisol Glow on!!
Happy New Year, and much love!!
My favorite self tanner line by far, is Beautisol. I have tried and love the dark tanning lotion, the Tea Tan Glow, and now the Self Tanning Mousse. Why do I love it so much? It dries super fast, the tan lasts and lasts, and it’s EASY! It’s really quite fool proof with the guide color and fast dry time. Did I mention it also has Beautisol’s Pure Scent Technology? You won’t smell that awful baked self tanned skin smell! It gives a nice deep olive glow. I prefer to apply it with the foam applicator mitt but gloves work well too.
Have you tried Beautisol? What was your favorite product from the Beautisol Sunless Tanner line?

Here’s a round up of some of my beauty favorites for May. I’d love to hear what you are loving this summer! Leave me a comment and your blog link below!
Funny story too….I thought I grabbed my bottle of Beautisol sunless tanner mousse for this picture. I *just* noticed that this is the Beautisol Tea Tan wash off bronzer. I bet I used that instead of the sunless tanner the other night too. Oops….oh well, I love them both!!
On to the rest of my May favorites!
Perlier Honey shower cream – I am in love with all my Perlier products from the travel set. This is such a gorgeous scent. It smells just like fresh clover honey and sunshine! The full review will be up soon!
Pssssssst! dry shampoo – I’ve tried a lot of dry shampoos, and disliked them all. This is the only one I like! I have been trying not to wash my hair too often, as it’s SO dry and falling out.
Bed Head by Tigi Sugar Shock – This is a root boosting product, much different from other root boosters. I don’t get a weighed down, crunchy, filmy mess at my roots with this. I use it on freshly washed hair and massage it into my scalp well. After a little blast from the blow dryer, I have volume! It smells awesome too, like Pink Sugar, without the pink.
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist deodorant – Yes, it’s weird to have a deodorant on my monthly favorites. BUT, it’s summer! I have super sensitive pits and I don’t want to stink. I don’t know what it is about this, but the formula just works for me! It’s really gentle and smells great.
Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash Mascara – I haven’t found a mascara I’ve like this much in a looooong time! I guess I am super picky about my mascara, but there is a lot to think about! I don’t like mascaras that irritate my eyes, are too wet, flake or smudge…You know! I guess I haven’t found my HG mascara yet. I love wiggly flexible brush with spiny bristles. It works really well to get into tiny areas. The formula is great too. I like my lashes a bit more volumized than this mascara provides, but that is easily fixed by layering mascaras.
Ageless Derma Retinol and Vitamin K eye cream – I have only been using this for several weeks but I love it already! My under eyes are dry and tend to look crepey if I don’t moisturize often enough, and with a good quality moisturizer. This eye cream has retinol, Vitamins K (said to help reduce dark under eye circles), vitamin E, green tea extracts, peptides and Coenzyme Q10. I love skin care products that are packed with ingredients like these! I haven’t found this cream (I use it 3 nights a week) to be drying at all. I’m really happy to have found an eye cream that will treat my fine lines and black circles AND moisturize at the same time! I will keep you posted on my long term results.
I’d love to hear your May favorites, so feel free to leave a comment below! Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
Well, it’s that time of the month again! NO, not *that* time! Time to tell you my most used beauty items last month!
When the weather turns warmer, I live in flip flops and comfy capris. That means, I need to ramp up my self tanning routine! I’m quite fair, which can prove a challenge in finding a sunless tanner that doesn’t make me look all oompah-loompah-ish.
I’ve recently become hooked on Beautisol self tanning lotion and Tea Tan Glow. The review of Beautisol Tea Tan Glow that I received through iFabbo, can be seen here
I love the Beautisol tanner for the color (nice olive toned golden tan), the fact that it lasts and when it finally does fade, it doesn’t get patchy. Another huge plus in my book, is that it doesn’t smell like other self tanners. It has a fresh scent, thanks to it’s odor eliminating technology. I don’t know how Beautisol did it, but it DOES NOT smell like baked skin! It dries very quickly as well, which is pretty nice!
Next up is Essie’s Apricot cuticle oil. I have very dry hands and cuticles. I normally go for cuticle butters (I like Badger, Burt’s Bees and LUSH) but this comes in handy for daytime use. It is an oil, but it’s a dry oil. It doesn’t smudge and leave greasy finger prints all over like the cuticle balms/butters do.
Finally, a surprising discovery! I had a $10 gift card to Victoria’s Secret, so I grabbed this Sparkling Citrus Lemon & Coconut body cream up on a whim. I don’t tend to be crazy about most of the scents from VS. This scent is very light and layer-able. That’s important to me, as I don’t want my lotion and perfume clashing! This body cream has a nice light scent, and moisturizes pretty well!
What were your April favorites? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
I have Beautisol self tanning lotions, and LOVE them. I have the dark self tanning body lotion. I had the chance to try the wash off Tea Tan Glow through iFabbo recently. While I have used self tanner forever, and tried most all of them, I have never tried a wash off body bronzer. This product is effortless!! It’s a mousse that dries in a minute(I didn’t believe it either, but it DOES!), is easy to apply/spread and doesn’t smell like baked skin! I hate the baked skin/biscuit smell from most self tanners. Beautisol self tanners don’t have that smell, as they have pure scent technology. The Tea Tan Glow smells fresh like the sunless tanner at first, but the smell is gone when the mousse is dry. I applied my Tea Tan Glow with the Beautisol mitt, which I would highly recommend. It gives a nice smooth application and will prevent your hands from staining.
I have pretty fair skin, and I found that the Tea Tan Glow looked lovely and natural on me. It’s golden olive toned, rather than orange/red so it looks very natural on most skin tones. I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as durability during the day. That sounds weird, but realistically, I am a busy Mom and don’t exactly have time in the middle of the day to strip down and reapply my tanner…
I was surprised that the Beautisol Tea Tan didn’t rub off on my clothes at all. It’s not supposed to, but you know…always a skeptic I guess! My tea tan lasted all day and night until I showered. My sensitive skin had no problems with the formula or ingredients. I would highly recommend the Tea Tan Glow, and Beautisol products in general! They are free of parabens, propylene glycol, sodium laureth, lauryl sulfate and do not test on animals. Every product that I have tried from Beautisol has been great quality. I’m super happy with my Beautisol Glow!
