Thank you to #CollectiveBias and Exaltria for sponsoring my #30Days2BetterSkin challenge.
I’ve completed my Exaltria #30Days2BetterSkin challenge! Thanks to common sense, we all know that beautiful skin starts from within. For example, if you eat nothing but processed foods, no fruits and veggies, drink diet soda rather than water, and don’t ever use sunscreen – I can guarantee your skin is not as healthy as it could be. It may already be paying the price, or it may show later in life. You only have one body, it’s important to treat it well, inside and out!
For the Exaltria challenge, I committed to washing my face twice a day, using sunscreen daily, drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, and to exercise at least 20 minutes per day. Those are pretty realistic goals, aren’t they? I’m a water drinker already, but I can always use more! I love to drink water with fresh squeezed lemon in it. There are so many health benefits, from regulating your digestive track, to decreasing the acidity of your body which causes inflammation. I will admit, there were days here and there that I wasn’t as physically active as I’d like. That’s just the way things are, when you have Chronic Lyme disease. I just try to do my best, and not beat myself up over what I can’t accomplish! I use sunscreen everyday, in the form of my IT Cosmetics CC Cream with spf 50+.
Obviously, being the skin care fanatic that I am, I wash my face every morning and night, without fail! Don’t ever sleep in your makeup!!!! There are a few other things that I implemented in my life, that are having a positive effect as well. I’m on a sugar detox. Yep, that’s right I gave up sugar. I still eat fruit, so I get some natural sugar. Nothing processed or with added sugar for me. The first few days were hard. I wanted chocolate like a fiend! Another thing I’ve been doing is making sure I get enough beauty sleep. When you work from home, and blog for a living it’s much too easy to stay up all hours. It’s a vicious cycle, insomnia, needing caffeine to get through the next day, being a zombie. I know a lot of you can relate!!
Exaltria is a simple change in your routine that can make such a difference is your skin’s moisture level, texture, and in some even a reduction in under eye bags/circles. For me, it made a noticeable difference in my skin’s texture, as I’m seeing less dry, rough areas on my cheeks. I’ve also been pleased to note that my eye crinkles are softened. Unfortunately for me, there was no change in my dark under eye circles, but I have some friends that did see a difference after their Exaltria challenge.
