I can’t keep up with all the ULTA 21 Days of Beauty sale items, but this one is important. If you are a Clarisonic user, you will want to stock up tomorrow 9/16 when the brush heads are buy one get one free at ULTA!! That’s two Clarisonic brush heads for $27.
I have been using my Clarisonic MIA Fit, which I was sent literally a month after my old Clarisonic broke. It was such good timing! My esthetician insists I use my Clarisonic morning and night, and I use the Acne Cleansing Brush head. Have you ever wondered about the different brush heads? If you aren’t sure which one to use, check out Clarisonic.com to learn which brush you should use. The Acne brush head contains more bristles, which is what my skin needs.
I’m working up to sharing my skin care experience over the Summer. I had to stop testing new skin care products, and deal with an infection. Things are much different with my skin these days, for the better.

You’ve heard me rave about Glo Minerals makeup before (they make some of my favorite eyeshadows and great lipstick pencils), but did you know they do skin care as well? If you have oily/combo skin, this Cyto Luxe Light Moisture might be the answer to your skin care dreams! The moisturizer features a key plant active from the nopal cactus to support skin’s defenses, and add weightless moisture. The lotion feels silky and light, absorbing into skin immediately. What made this lotion a hit for me is the lack of silicones, which are there, but almost at the end of the ingredient list. What this lotion is packed with are good for your skin ingredients like hyaluronic acid, coconut water, and BioRetinol. The Cyto Luxe Light Moisture is a great under makeup moisturizer option, and if you have oily/combo skin it may work at night as well. This moisturizer has a slight citrus scent that is very light and dissipates as quickly as it’s absorbed into your skin.
The Cyto Luxe Toning Mist is enriched with a hydrating plant active from the papyrus leaf to combat water loss and reinforce skin’s protective barrier. This mist has a powerful spray, and it’s meant to be used after cleansing and before serums and moisturizers. It also makes a nice skin refresher on makeup free days. In addition to the papyrus leaf extract, this refreshing toning mist contains cucumber extract, coconut water, and glycerin. It has a light refreshing scent.
You can find the Glo Therapeutics Cyto Luxe moisturizer at DermStore for $72 for a 2oz bottle, and the 4oz Toning Mist is $39.

Have you given much thought about the toll the environment and your busy life takes on your skin? We all know the importance of sunscreen, but there’s much more that we could, and should be doing to improve the health of our skin. Korean Beauty focuses on long term overall skin care health – treatment of existing skin care concerns, and prevention of long term unwanted issues. K-Beauty has multiple skin care steps, but don’t let it overwhelm you. Consider your skin care routine to be part of your health and well being. LANEIGE products are an affordable and convenient way to try out a K-Beauty skin care routine. You can find LANEIGE online and in Target stores.
LANEIGE is an award winning, global beauty brand in the K-Beauty space. Their formulas utilize cutting edge technology and natural botanicals to treat a wide range of skin care concerns.
LANEIGE is leading the K-Beauty trend, and has perfected the Power of 7 regimen.
Your K-Beauty skin care routine looks like this:
LANEIGE’s patented Advanced Water Science™ technology was designed to hydrate the skin to protect, illuminate, revitalize, and enhance, and show immediate results with long term benefits.
Here’s the LANEIGE line up to get you started.
Multi-Cleanser (cleanse) – makeup remover and exfoliator melts makeup and sunscreen, natural papaya contains an enzyme to exfoliate and deep clean skin.
Power Essential Skin Toner (clarify) – exfoliates and purifies skin after cleansing, Optimal Mineral Water whisks away dead skin cells, supplies and retains skin’s moisture level.
Balancing Emulsion (balance) – purifying and hydro balancing lotion with Optimal Mineral Water, helps skin retain ideal moisture levels, protects skin and promotes a clear luminous complexion.
Water Bank Serum (treat) – ultra hydrating serum suitable for all skin types contains Hydro Ionized Mineral Water and Biogen Technology to deliver 6 skin loving minerals deep into skin, lasting 24 hours.
Water Bank Moisture Cream (moisturize) – richly textured cream with Hydro Ionized Mineral Water delivers 6 moisture maximizing minerals to skin, strengthens skin’s moisture barrier.
Water Sleeping Mask (revive) – revitalizes skin overnight once or twice per week. Purifies and detoxifies with apricot and primrose extracts, hydrates and locks in long lasting moisture. Intensive care necessary for skin replenishment to retexture skin.
BB Cushion (protect) – Protects skin from UVA/UVB rays with spf 50+. LANEIGE claims this is a buildable light coverage, but I feel like the coverage is quite impressive, more like a solid medium coverage working well to cover redness and imperfections.
This range of skin care is great for all skin types, including my sensitive, acne prone, currently oily skin. The products are pleasant to use, both the bottles and the formulas are aesthetically pleasing to me. I try to really slow down, pay attention so I can relax and enjoy my skin care routine. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire LANEIGE line, but my favorites are the Power Essential Skin Care toner (my oily skin loves it!), Water Bank Serum (the hype is real!), Water Sleeping Mask, and the BB Cushion. I’m really impressed with the coverage, feel, and lasting power of the BB cream. The cushion compact is super convenient for Summer days when I don’t want to be messing around with heavy layers of correctors, foundation, concealers, and powder.

I’m always interested in trying out skin care products that are natural, organic, and healthier for my body. I feel like it’s harder to create a stand out product that checks all my boxes when it comes to natural skin care. Aixallia is a French organic skin care brand that has recently been brought to my attention. Aixallia products are created with locally harvested organic French Mediterranean botanicals and organic essential oils. Something unique to the brand is they use a proprietary ultra pure water blend to eliminate impurities within the natural product formulas.
Each product contains a blend of gentle, natural botanicals with good for your skin ingredients. I love that Aixallia supports charitywater.org, a non profit organization that brings clean and safe drinking water to developing nations by donating 1% of net profit sales revenue. It’s a win-win! You get clean and effective skin care formulas that are healthy for your skin, and you can feel good about supporting a business that gives back.
I tested out 7 products, and have some favorites to share with you!
The body care products I’ve been using are the Coconut and Calendula Exfoliating Shower Gel, Rose and Almond Hydrating Body Lotion, and Olive and Rose Hydrating Hand Cream. The shower gel has a subtle sweet scent, and lovely texture. It’s extremely gentle on my dry skin, and the coconut powder gives a very gentle exfoliation. It’s not often that my skin feels moisturized after I’ve cleansed, but this Coconut and Calendula formula somehow manages to!
The Rose and Almond lotion is a lightweight and delicately scented lotion that is perfect for Summer. It dries quickly, and leaves my skin soft and lightly scented, without any stickiness. The Olive and Rose Hand Cream is a heavier moisturizer that I prefer to use before bed. My hands and cuticles are constantly dry, but using the smallest dab of this cream is making them softer. Both lotions have a soft botanical scent, and I wouldn’t shy away from them if you aren’t a rose lover. They don’t actually have a typical rose scent.
I’ve been using the Five Plants Emulsifying Makeup Remover to remove my eye makeup. I’m a complete convert to Micellar water. It is hands down the most gentle cleanser I’ve found to remove my eye makeup. It doesn’t sting, and it’s so effective there’s no tugging or harsh wiping at my eyes. It leaves a nice clean feel, without greasiness. The makeup remover has a very soft scent, again botanical based.
Both the Green Tea Protective Day Cream and Lavender Soothing Night Cream were a bit too heavy on my oily skin at the moment. I may be able to use them when the weather isn’t quite so hot. I have been using and enjoying the rich, but extremely gentle formula of the Rose and Argan Revitalizing Eye Cream. It’s super moisturizing, but sinks in quickly leaving a beautiful canvas for applying eye makeup.
My favorites from the Aixallia line are the Coconut and Calendula Exfoliating Shower Gel, Rose and Almond Body Lotion, Olive and Rose Hand Cream, and Makeup Remover.
All Aixallia products are certified ECOCERT.

Introduced in France in 2003, Ecocert’s cosmetic specifications support the basic principles of environmentally friendly and sustainable resources and manufacturing processes: the absence of GMO, parabens, phenoxyethanol, nanoparticles, silicon, PEG, synthetic perfumes and dyes, animal-derived ingredients (unless naturally produced by them such as honey) and biodegradable or recyclable packaging. Additionally, a minimum of 95% of all plant-based ingredients in the formula must come from organic farming.

I have a new favorite clay mask! I’ve been testing out the new Valentia Skin Detoxifying Mask for a month, and I’m ready to give you a rave review. If you’re new around here, I have acne prone, combination skin that is leaning on the sensitive side lately. I really feel the need to do a deep cleansing mask 1-2 times per week. What I love so much about the Valentia Skin Detoxifying Mask is how good my skin feels after. I’m not a huge fan of masks that suck every bit of moisture out of my skin. The Valentia Detoxifying mask does contain kaolin clay to deeply cleanse, but it’s what else is in the mask that makes it stand out in my skin care stash. Check out the information below from Valentia to see why this detox mask is unique.
Kaolin Clay:Clay minerals draw impurities, improve skin tone, and tighten pores for smoother firmer skin.
Plant Stem Cells:Naturally decreases the level of pro-aging toxins and works to soother the skin, reduce redness, and improve evenness.
Spirulina:A botanical stimulant full of vitamins that hydrates the skins surface and contributes to tissue regeneration of the skin.
CoQ10:Lessens the appearance of wrinkles by reducing free radical damage and stimulating health collagen production.
Hibiscus & Cranberry Fibers:Both lend their anti-aging properties to firm and reinforce the skin, helping to reduce the creation of new wrinkles.
I love that the mask has natural fibers which give it a bit of exfoliation when you are ready to remove it. I add a bit of water and gently rub my face to exfoliate any dead skin when I’m removing it. My face feels deeply cleansed, smooth and soft, but not stripped of all moisture after I’m done.

Paula’s Choice Must Haves
Clear Daily Skin Clearing Treatment 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide
Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel with Glycolic Acid
Skin Recovery Replenishing Moisturizer
Resist Moisture Renewal Oil Booster with Ceramides + Argan Oil
I have combination skin with acne, and also worry about aging now that I’m 37. Because of my current acne medications from my dermatologist, my skin is sensitive and tends to have very dry and tender areas. The Clear Benzoyl Peroxide
acne treatment is hands down the best BP product on the market. It’s gentle and effective. It works as an all over treatment, or spot treatment.
The Skin Perfecting Glycolic Acid Gel is amazing. It’s the perfect dosage to be effective without irritating, and it compliments the BP treatment nicely.
The Skin Recovery Moisturizer and Resist Oil are my go-to for overly dry and sensitive skin. I typically use these as my last steps at night. This magical duo prevents me from being scaly, red, and peeling when I’m using Retin A several nights per week.
Paula’s Choice also sells samples of most of the products, and even include free samples in each order. I’ve found some new favorites that way! Paula’s Choice products are cruelty free, and not tested on animals. They are also free from dyes and fragrance.
Have you tried Paula’s Choice yet? If you sign up and use your $10 credit, I would love to hear about what you ordered and how you like it!
