Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Today we are sharing our favorite Summer Beauty products with you. It was hard to narrow it down to just ten, but here’s what I have been reaching for often in the hot weather. I’ve chosen items that are easy to use, hold up to heat and humidity, and give me a polished look in a flash! Let’s face it, Summer around here is hectic and the kids are always doing something, so I don’t have as much makeup time as I normally would!
L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime lip balms – These balms have spf, shea butter and peony extract to moisturize for 8 hours. They have a soft and smooth texture, and you can easily apply them on the go, without a mirror. The balms come in clear, Rose Nude, Rose Amber, and Rose Plum shades. They have a soft floral scent, so just beware if you are very sensitive to fragrances.
I use my IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination year round, but it’s especially great for summer. It’s full coverage, applies quickly and doesn’t melt in the heat.
Pacifica Beauty Solar mineral palette – This palette has the perfect mix of summery shades and portable convenience. It contains 6 creaseless coconut infused eye shadows, 3 creamy highlighters, a blush, and a bronzer. It also happens to be cruelty free, and vegan. I can do a quick face look, with minimal brushes. I love all in one palettes for summers on the go!
butter LONDON Iconoclast mascara – This ultra black glossy volumizing mascara is my new favorite. It’s got a firm brush applicator that banishes clumps, and a ball tip to lift and separate lashes. The formula doesn’t smudge or run, and doesn’t irritate my eyes. It comes off relatively easy with my HG makeup remover, Clinique’s Take the Day Off Balm.
I’m having a moment with purple cosmetics this summer. Urban Decay’s Bittersweet is one of the gorgeous new Revolution High-Color lip glosses. This shade is a full coverage bright purple cream.
Two purple hued nail polishes I’ve been loving are: FingerPaints Pop Art Purple and KB Shimmer We Be Jammin’.
I tend to reach for lighter scents in the summer, and lately I’ve been using The Body Shop’s Indian Night Jasmine and L’Occitane Iris Bleu & Blanc.
I’ve also recently found a gradual self tanner that has super moisturizing power, and gives a nice color. I’m not sure about you, but the majority of gradual self tanners either don’t have enough moisture, or enough color. This is a new line from the makers of Vita Liberata, called NKD SKN. It’s sold at ULTA and you can get an 8.45fl oz tube for $14.50. Right now they are BOGO 50%, so if you want to try it, now’s the time!
