Hi Beauties! Meet TATCHA, my new favorite skin care line. Yes, you heard that right, my skin care obsessed friends. I can say without any hesitation that TATCHA is my favorite line of skin care EVER. I was ecstatic to have the chance to review TATCHA’s Ritual Discovery Kit and Aburatorigami Japanese blotting papers. I’ve wanted to try this brand for ages, and now I finally have!
Victoria Tsai is the creator behind this geisha inspired skin care experience. After she learned of the geisha’s skincare philosophy, she set out to create a unique experience, not simply JUST a skin care line. TATCHA’s first product was the Aburatorigami blotting papers. These luxe blotting papers are large (3.74″x3.74″) all natural powder free papers that will not disturb makeup, but will leave your skin soft and shine free. These gold flecked blotting sheets are beautiful to look at, and better than any other blotting papers I’ve used. I always keep them close.
If you are new to TATCHA, I would recommend starting out by trying the Ritual Discovery Kit, like I did. I chose the combination skin kit which contains:
– PURE One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil—25mL
– POLISHED Rice Enzyme Powder—14 x 1g packets
– RADIANT Deep Brightening Serum—10mL
– SUPPLE Moisture Rich Silk Cream—10mL (Combination, Oily and Sensitive Skin Kits) or
– AGELESS Enriching Renewal Cream—10mL (Dry Skin Kit)
What you will not find in TATCHA skin care, ever:
Parabens, synthetic fragrances, mineral oil, sulfate detergents, phthalates, urea, DEA or TEA
I felt like I was opening a birthday present when I received my TATCHA box! Everything was packaged so thoughtfully, it really was beautiful. The bottles in the Ritual Discovery Kit are refillable, so you can reuse the glass bottles when traveling. The TATCHA products I tested out all smelled divine! Not in a “chemically laden scent to cover up the real scent” way either. They smell natural, and almost like and herbal/floral scent.
The Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil is wonderful for removing even the most stubborn makeup, including waterproof liner and mascara. It feels wonderfully soothing as it melts away your makeup. When you add a little water and rinse your face, it turns into an almost milky consistency. My skin feels soft, smooth and supple without a hint of oil or makeup left behind. The Polished Rice Enzyme Powder is my favorite product, and so unlike anything I’ve tried before. It’s a very finely milled powder that turns into a slightly scrubby cleansing wash when applied to your wet face. I love how smooth my skin felt after using this. (In fact, I am currently out of the Enzyme Powder, and I miss it terribly!) Your face is treated to a very gentle physical exfoliation while also benefiting from the enzyme’s exfoliating properties.
The Radiant Deep Brightening Serum comes next, which is a thin lotion like consistency. This serum will brighten your skin with an array of Asian botanicals and HASASEI-3 Bioactive Complex. I like the scent and feel of this, and I’m hoping with my persistent use I will see some lightening of my problem areas. (acne scars)
The final step in the Ritual Discovery Kit is Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream. Again, I can’t help but feel serene when I get a whiff of the scent, the divinely smooth texture and feel of my skin. I love this cream, it’s the perfect weight and amount of moisture for my summer skin’s needs. I have been using this at night and during the day under my makeup.
So, there’s my experience with TATCHA….I promise you, it’s spa time each time you use them! TATCHA has many more beautiful products on their website, like the Camellia Beauty Oil and Nourishing Lip Balm that contains 24karat gold. I’ve also heard wonderful things of the Water Collections Dewey Skin Mist, the masks and serum.
If you’ve tried TATCHA, I’d love to hear your favorites! Please find TATCHA on social media to keep up to date on the latest in luxury skin care!
