July Favorites – Skin Care!

I’ve been slightly obsessed with finding a new skin care routine for the past month. I’ve found some really great products, so this month’s favorites will be all skin care! My favorites this month far and away are from Ole Henriksen. I’d love to hear what’s on your favorites list this month!

makeup remover and cleansers

I’ve found my holy grail makeup remover in Clinique’s Take the Day off Cleansing Balm! It removes spf, long wearing foundation and stubborn eye makeup easily. For cleansing after my makeup removal, I have been using Ageless Derma Glycolic Anti Aging cleanser, Own rejuvenating cleanser and REN micro polish cleanser.

My favorite toners are Thayer’s alcohol free rose petal witch hazel and Clarins Chamomile toning lotion.

I am obsessed with REN glycol lactic radiance renewal mask and Ole Henriksen’s enlighten me skin tone corrector! Both have given me a noticeably brighter complexion.

Serums are my favorite part! I’ve found each of these to be soothing and beneficial to my skin. I use NOW Rose Hip
Seed oil (see my post on the benefits of Rose hip HERE), Own Renewing firming silk concentrate, and the best serum I’ve ever used Ole Henriksen’s pure truth activating oil.

I’ve been using Own refining moisture night cream for months and love its gentle formula. Ole Henriksen’s sheer transformation moisturizer is a new obsession. I’ve been using it during the day under my makeup. It sinks in immediately and creates a beautiful semi matte canvas for my foundation.

What are your favorites this month? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

Ageless Derma Retinol and Vitamin K eye cream review

I have been testing a new eye cream for a few weeks, and I’m really excited to share it with you! (Stay tuned for a giveaway!!) Ageless Derma skincare was created by physicians, estheticians and chemists. Ageless Derma products combine the best cutting edge research and all natural ingredients for highly effective anti aging skin care.

Ageless Derma eye cream contains retinol, peptides and vitamins C,E and K. This blend of highly effective ingredients will improve skin texture and elasticity, soften fine lines, wrinkles and lessen under eye circles.

I definitely need some help with my delicate eye area. At 34, that’s the one area that is starting to show my age. In addition, I tend to get very dry skin under my eyes, which ends up looking crepey. NOT a good look for under my foundation and concealer!

Here’s what I experienced:
-my under eyes did not have any dryness or flaky areas
-immediately had plumper and tighter skin around my eyes
-the moisture is long lasting. I use Ageless Derma eye cream 3 nights a week at bedtime (never use Retinol eye cream during the day as it doesn’t play nicely with sun!) and my under eyes are considerably and consistently much less dry all the time!

Here’s what I did not experience:

-I did not have dryness or peeling from the active ingredients (I suspected I may have peeling from the Retinol, but I didn’t!)
-I did not experience any negative reaction to my sensitive eyes

I think the Ageless Derma eye cream is a winner if you are looking for an eye cream with active, effective and proven ingredients! I’m excited to try more skin care from the line. I will be sure to let you know my thoughts on the rest of the skin care! Did I mention they have mineral makeup too? I haven’t tried it yet, but I think summer would be a great time to test some new mineral makeup that has added spf!

May Favorites – Beautisol, Ageless Derma, Perlier & Sugar Shock

Here’s a round up of some of my beauty favorites for May. I’d love to hear what you are loving this summer! Leave me a comment and your blog link below!

May faves

Funny story too….I thought I grabbed my bottle of Beautisol sunless tanner mousse for this picture. I *just* noticed that this is the Beautisol Tea Tan wash off bronzer. I bet I used that instead of the sunless tanner the other night too. Oops….oh well, I love them both!!

On to the rest of my May favorites!

Perlier Honey shower cream – I am in love with all my Perlier products from the travel set. This is such a gorgeous scent. It smells just like fresh clover honey and sunshine! The full review will be up soon!

Pssssssst! dry shampoo – I’ve tried a lot of dry shampoos, and disliked them all. This is the only one I like! I have been trying not to wash my hair too often, as it’s SO dry and falling out.

Bed Head by Tigi Sugar Shock – This is a root boosting product, much different from other root boosters. I don’t get a weighed down, crunchy, filmy mess at my roots with this. I use it on freshly washed hair and massage it into my scalp well. After a little blast from the blow dryer, I have volume! It smells awesome too, like Pink Sugar, without the pink.

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist deodorant – Yes, it’s weird to have a deodorant on my monthly favorites. BUT, it’s summer! I have super sensitive pits and I don’t want to stink. I don’t know what it is about this, but the formula just works for me! It’s really gentle and smells great.

Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash Mascara – I haven’t found a mascara I’ve like this much in a looooong time! I guess I am super picky about my mascara, but there is a lot to think about! I don’t like mascaras that irritate my eyes, are too wet, flake or smudge…You know! I guess I haven’t found my HG mascara yet. I love wiggly flexible brush with spiny bristles. It works really well to get into tiny areas. The formula is great too. I like my lashes a bit more volumized than this mascara provides, but that is easily fixed by layering mascaras.

Ageless Derma Retinol and Vitamin K eye cream – I have only been using this for several weeks but I love it already! My under eyes are dry and tend to look crepey if I don’t moisturize often enough, and with a good quality moisturizer. This eye cream has retinol, Vitamins K (said to help reduce dark under eye circles), vitamin E, green tea extracts, peptides and Coenzyme Q10. I love skin care products that are packed with ingredients like these! I haven’t found this cream (I use it 3 nights a week) to be drying at all. I’m really happy to have found an eye cream that will treat my fine lines and black circles AND moisturize at the same time! I will keep you posted on my long term results.

I’d love to hear your May favorites, so feel free to leave a comment below! Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
