October Favorites – all about lips!

October brought too many products to name everything in my monthly favorites! I thought I would do a lip edition of monthly favorites, since I had so many that I loved in October.

I am adoring my Almay liquid lip balms in Lilac Love and Pink Pout. My favorite lip combo of the month was It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi lip stain, with Almay Lilac Love over it. It’s a gorgeous combo that lasts hours, and feels great on my lips!

I love the color and feel of the Korres lip butter in Quince. The only thing I’m not crazy about, is the scent. I’m trying to get past it, because it’s a gorgeous pink and it feels lovely on!Almay-liquid-balm-Korres

Revlon Color Burst lacquer balm in Whimsical is a gorgeous dark pink with fuchsia shimmer. I love the feel of this balm! It’s very moisturizing, but it doesn’t last long. It’s not a stain, so count on reapplying. It Vitality gloss stain is probably my #1 go to lip product. It feels great on, it warms up to a flattering bright pink and it lasts for hours! The Clinique chubby sticks are similar to the Revlon color burst pencils in feel, moisturizing, but not all that long lasting. Mega Melon is a great dark peach that would flatter all skin tones.

Next up, I have a gorgeous CoverGirl Smoochie lip gloss in Violet Flare. This is part of the Hunger Games Catching Fire collection. It’s a really gorgeous purple that’s filled with sparkle. I’m NOT a Kardashian fan, but I have to say, I really like the formula of the Khroma Beauty lip glosses. The applicator is ridiculous though. It’s so long it wobbles a bit when you apply, which I find really annoying. Other than that, I really like the feel and smell (honey!) of them. I have Summer Honey (light pink) and Cherry Blossom Honey (dark pink).

I’d love to hear some of your favorites from October in the comments!

Summer Skin Care Favorites – Currently Loving

I’m currently re vamping my skin care routine. These aren’t all the products that I am using, but I wanted to share a few of the stand out products I’ve come across recently!

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm – This is a fabulous balm that melts as soon as it hits your skin. It makes fast and easy work of getting off stubborn eye makeup, spf and long wearing foundation. I LOVE this as my first step in the evening before I cleanse.

After cleansing, I have been using Rose Water alchohol free witch hazel for ages, and now I’m switching it up a bit. I have been using the Clairins Toning Lotion with Chamomile. It’s very gentle and slightly hydrating.

As a next step, I have fallen hard for Ole Henriksen’s Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil. It contains vitamins a and c, and omega 3-6-9. I love to do a nice facial massage with this. It hasn’t upset or broken out my sensitive and break out prone skin. I can’t wait to try more from Ole Henriksen!

About once a week, I have been using Ren’s Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. This is an interesting product. It’s gotten some rave reviews in the blogging world, and I was anxious to try. My skin loves acids (except for salicylic) and Ren’s mask contains lactic, glycolic, tartaric and citric fruit acids. It also leaves out all the bad for your skin junk ingredients. I have seen some smoothing of my skin and lightening of my scarring.

I have to mention that the Ren mask smells AMAZING. It’s the texture (and scent) of apricot preserves. It does warm my skin, but there’s no burning from this acid mask!

My skin is always a work in progress. I think a few of the products I have mentioned are going to become HG skin care items for me! I love to talk skin, so let me know what you love in the comments!

Clinique Chubby Sticks for Eyes – An easy summer look!

Easy Summer Eye Look with Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes

Here’s a super easy summer eye I created using 2 colors and no makeup brushes! I did use my typical eye primer (MAC Painterly), then I smudged my Clinique chubby shadow stick in Ample Amber all over my lid. I blended up to the crease. I smudged my Clinique Fuller Fudge shadow stick along my lashline and smudged it a bit with my finger. I added mascara, and was good to go! It lasted all day looking fresh and pulled together!

This was my first time trying the Clinique Chubby sticks for eyes. I really liked them! I am definitely going back for the purple shades! I think the two neutral colors I chose are great choices for blue eyes especially!

Have you tried the chubby shadow sticks? What is your go-to easy makeup routine for summer?
