Sarah Horowitz Parfums – Perfect Vanilla, Beauty Comes From Within

gardenia

I blame Olfactif for my recent obsession with Sarah Horowitz Parfums. In July I received “Perfect Coconut Milk” from my monthly Olfactif perfume subscription box. It’s a stunner, which I reviewed here.

I loved the interview Sarah did with Olfactif, which you can see here. (Yay for East Coast girls!)

I’ve received three more Sarah Horowitz Parfum samples since. I chose Perfect Vanilla, Perfect Bliss and Beauty Comes From Within. All winners, yet I think any scent I’d have chosen from Sarah’s line would be love at first sniff! She uses a lot of perfume notes that are my favorites.

I’d love to give you my thoughts on the three gorgeous scents I tested. Here are the descriptions from Sarah Horowitz Parfums.

Perfect Vanilla – “Perfect Vanilla is a sumptuous, mouth-watering melding of five vanillas from around the world, made decadently inviting by hints of amber and blood orange.”

Perfect Bliss – “Perfect Bliss is a sultry melding of tropical fruits, white gardenia and vanilla, inspired by Sarah Horowitz’s honeymoon on the island of Tahiti.”

Beauty Comes From Within – “Beauty Comes From Within” is a voluptuous and inviting fragrance. Top notes of sweet lychee, pineapple leaf and tangerine introduce middle notes of gardenia and stargazer lily accented with white rose. Succulent vanilla flower, meditative sandalwood and warm tonka bean comprise a warm sexy base.”

Perfect Vanilla is a musky, rich vanilla. When I first tested it, it reminded me of high quality pure vanilla extract for just a split second, before morphing into something more sophisticated. It has more body and substance to it than I was expecting. I think this is a great layering perfume as well. It has great lasting power too, thanks to the amber.

Perfect Bliss is a perfectly blended happy, sunny scent. I would describe it as a beachy scent without the coconut. Innocent and soft, it’s a skin scent from beginning to end.

Beauty Comes from Within was my favorite of the three scents. I think its sexy, yet innocent. It has such a nice balance between the florals and fruits, with tonka bean and sandalwood to ground it and add warmth. The gardenia note that Sarah Horowitz uses is the best I’ve smelled in a perfume. It’s soft and sweet, without overpowering the entire fragrance. I also want to point out that I couldn’t even detect the lily in this perfume. That’s a good thing for me!

I’m anxious to try more scents from Sarah Horowitz! She offers some amazing services, including a customized scent, single notes to layer and experiment, and custom products.

I’d love to hear if you have tried anything from Sarah Horowitz Parfums.

Perfect Coconut Milk Perfume by Sarah Horowitz Parfums

The beginning of every month, I so look forward to getting my Olfactif subscription box! I love perfume, and niche perfumes have always had a special place in my heart.
The theme of this months box, which contains a trio of spray vials, is “On Holiday.”

The first scent I tested is Perfect Coconut Milk by Sarah Horowitz Parfums.

The notes are coconut, almond, orange blossom, gardenia, tonka bean, vanilla and Egyptian musk.
I was pretty sure I was going to love this scent!

I know you’re dying to read what I thought about Perfect Coconut Milk….

It opens with a sultry and warm boozy coconut. This is straight up sexy coconut, no fresh green coconut here!
There is a gardenia peeking around the coconut, not taking over as gardenia sometimes does…
it’s just blooming somewhere in the distance. The almond lends a rich, lickable quality to the perfume. I smell the orange blossom, but it’s very light and barely there. I think the gardenia and almond are preventing the perfume from becoming too foody. Oh, my….this beauty is SO well blended!!

I smell the vanilla after a few minutes. It’s a rich boozy vanilla, which I assume is the tonka bean coming into play as well. I’m left with an amazingly well blended scent, a gourmand that isn’t too rich for summer. It lasts for about 5 hours on my skin.

If I had to describe the scent in another way, I would say that it reminds me of a gourmet truffle! Coconut cream in the center, with an essence of something floral, covered with vanilla almond flavored white chocolate and a drizzle of dark chocolate with a hint of orange liqueur.

This is one sexy, luscious scent! If you like foody scents, you might want to give this work of art a try. I’d love to hear some of your favorite scents in the comments below!
