I am SO impressed with the Beauty Junkees 8 Piece Pro Eye Makeup Brush Set. I’ve been using this brand for nearly six weeks, and wish I’d known about their makeup brushes sooner! This eight piece set is perfect for beginner makeup lovers or those of us that have a stock pile of brushes already. I promise you will like these as much as, or more, than even your high end brushes. The 8 Piece Pro set retails for just under $40, but currently its on Amazon for $24. The set is a mix of synthetic and natural bristles. Below is information from Beauty Junkees on how to best use each brush.
pro Pencil: Best used for smudging liners or applying shadow along the top and lower lash line, creating a smokey effect. Also great for defining the outer V or the crease.
pro Tapered Blending: Designed for applying and blending a transition color base shadow in to the crease of the eyelid for a soft finish.
pro All Over Shader: The dense rounded bristles are designed to pack shadow over entire eyelid for a smooth and even finish.
pro Precision Eye Liner: Designed for applying a tight line to the upper and lower eye lash lines using liquid, gel, cream or powders.
pro Angled Shading: Best used for applying product to the brown bone. Makes highlighting quick and easy. Also works great to blend color into the crease.
pro Flat Definer: Best used to create a sharp and precise line on the upper or lower lash lines with gel, cream or powder liners.
pro Blending: Created for precision blending powder shadows and buffing harsh lines for a smoother, well blended effect.
pro Crease: Best used to apply shadow in the eyelid crease for a soft diffused effect to the eyes.
The above descriptions are great suggestions, but don’t let that limit your usage of the brushes. I have found the pro Pencil Brush to be absolutely amazing for doing detailed spot concealing. I have acne scars that need extra coverage, and this brush makes the job easy and nearly effortless. One of the most highly recommended brushes for makeup lovers is the MAC 217. I’ve always felt that brush was a bit to scratchy for eyeshadow blending personally. I wanted to mention it since it’s such a staple for so many makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts. The Beauty Junkees pro Blending Brush is identical to the MAC 217, with the exception of the much lower price. Of all my Beauty Junkees brushes, this is the only one that I don’t reach for often (only because I have super sensitive eyelids and it isn’t soft enough for me). I still would recommend it if you love the MAC 217.
The Beauty Junkees brushes are designed to work well with powders, creams, liquids and minerals. They are sturdy, and don’t shed during use or frequent washing. My brushes are holding up well, and I use this to clean them after each use, and once a week use this Sephora Solid Brush Cleanser.
