I have another little gem from the CoverGirl Hunger Games Catching Fire collection to share today! CoverGirl Flamed Up Mega Curl mascara is the newest addition to CoverGirl’s fabulous family of mascaras. Let’s get right down to the pros and cons!
What I liked about Flamed Up:
- the natural bristle brush with an eye hugging curve
- the mousse like formula
- no flaking or smudging
- holds a curl (to a point, I have very stubborn straight lashes)
- doesn’t irritate eyes
What I’m not so crazy about:
- like the original Flamed Out, the opening is too big. I feel this allows for too much product on the brush that I have to wipe off, and also for air to get into the tube and dry out the mascara quicker that it should.
- stubborn to remove. I guess this is a pro and con!!
I have to say, I do think the pros outweigh the cons! This is a great mascara, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase it again. If you are like me, and have stick straight and stubborn lashes that don’t like to curl, give it a try! It definitely held a curl from my lash curler longer than most mascaras.
Have you tried the CoverGirl Flamed Up? What did you think of it? Let me know your favorite mascara in the comments!

I definitely added a lot of volume to your lashes! Great photos BTW. I haven’t tried it yet. I hear ya about the wide opening, I usually don’t like that either. I’m not a fan of the curved brush so I’ll probably pass on this one, but I’m glad to read your review since I thought I’d probably try it. I have the green tube Lashblast with the curved brush. I use it as an everyday mascara but it doesn’t add much volume for me. This one looks much better volume-wise but I hate the curve lol

Is the Clump Crusher the one you are using? I LOVE that mascara! It’s not much for huge lashes, but it’s super easy when I’m doing my everyday fast makeup before getting the kids to school. I can’t be bothered with fussy mascaras on those days haha!!
If it is anything like the original I will love this. Great review
Thanks for reading Ana!
Good review Amber! That mascara made a big difference in the pics.
