ipsy June

This month’s ipsy bag theme is Pretty in ParadiseHere’s what I received:

Realtree for Her .16oz deluxe sample - This scent was created by a camo pattern maker. The fragrance snob in me is glad I didn’t look into the fragrance notes and details before trying. This was my favorite item (of the items I’ve not tried before) from my bag! I tested the scent without looking up the notes before hand, which I find to sometimes help in reviewing. Here’s what Realtree says about their scent:

Realtree for Her opens up with the sweet taste of pomegranate, a hint of persimmon and an exotic scent of orchids. It blends with lotus blossom and champaca flower and it’s followed by the rich scent of amber, the transient scent of violets and the depth of mahogany wood.

I am surprised it doesn’t have peony in it, because that was what I immediately thought of. I would describe this scent as a sweet and juicy floral, somewhat reminiscent of Hanae Mori. It lasted several hours on me, and had the perfect amount of throw for my liking. I really am pleased with this scent, and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase the full size bottle and body lotion.

NYX butter gloss in Creme Brulee - I have most of the NYX butter gloss shades and absolutely love the formula!

Ofra universal eyebrow pencil - I just received this in my Wantable June makeup box, and love it!

Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray - I’ve been wanting to try this brand, so I will probably give this a try.

Be a Bombshell cosmetics Lash Out mascara - I love this brand and I’m pleased to receive a full size. BUT it smells like chemicals and tires. Or something gross…This will not be going near my sensitive eyes! I know everyone else has had this problem as well, and some brave ipsters tried the mascara without any problems. Personally, I’m just going to toss this and not even try it.

The bag was designed for ipsy by Rebecca Minkoff and has a cute abstract pineapple pattern. Love it! What did you get this month? If you’d like to sign up for ipsy, please use my referral link. Thanks!!

ipsy may - fresh picks

Another month has gone by, and I have another ipsy bag to share! I am crazy about the canvas zippered bag with green leaves on it! This will be getting a lot of use! Let’s have a look at what I received in my ipsy May bag:

Hang Ten spf 50 natural sunscreen (from Coola) - not the most exciting thing to get in a beauty bag, but it will get used. I usually pass little sunscreen tubes onto my redheaded and fair skinned hubby for his golf bag.

pur-lisse pur-moist hydra balance moisturizer - for normal-dry-sensitive-anti aging skin, this is a creamy moisturizer containing blue lotus, white tea, soy proteins, sea silk and lupine peptides.

nailtinti nail lacquer in Frappe - pretty light nude peach creme polish. I rarely do nude nails, so I will be saving this for an extra in a giveaway!

Crown Brush C433 Pro Blending fluff eyeshadow brush - Looks a lot like a MAC 217! I can always use another shadow brush, so this was a great addition.

Pacifica Natural Beauty eye duo #2 - this eyeshadow duo has a white gold with some duochrome goodness going on and a pretty light purple. While it’s not the most pigmented shadow I’ve tried, I do love the color combinations and the shadow is soft. I’m glad to be able to try Pacifica out!

ipsy April - Beauty Rocks!

What a fabulous ipsy bag I got this month! This month’s theme was “Beauty Rocks!” Let’s take a look at what I received:

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil - This is a great velvet black shade, and come on, it’s Urban Decay! I love the brand but oddly enough I don’t like how Zero eyeliner looks on me. It pulls blue-gray, so I am happy to have a true black UD pencil now.

Benefit Lollitint - This is the newest addition to Benefit’s lip and cheek tint family. The candy orchid shade is a perfect example of how to wear Pantone’s color of the year, Radiant Orchid, with ease! I love purples, and this is a flattering shade for my neutral-cool skin tone.

Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Acid Pink - This is my first Cailyn product, though the brand seems to be quite popular in beauty subscription boxes. I am shocked at the incredible pigmentation of this tinted lip balm. I would consider it more of a stain, but without any dry feeling. This lasts really well on my lips, and on my hand when I swatched it!

City Color White Gold Mousse Eyeshadow - This is actually my favorite item in the bag! I was initially disappointed that I didn’t receive the Elizabeth Mott champagne eyeshadow that some friends had in their bag. Until I swatched this shadow….it’s just gorgeous. My pictures do not do it justice! It’s got a smooth mousse texture and so much sheen! I’m looking forward to trying more City Color products!

Kiss Looks So Natural Flirty lashes - I don’t wear lashes, so these will be going to a friend that will use them. They look pretty, and I do like the tapered end for a more natural look!

I’m going to show my age here a little bit…but I saw an ipsy bag opening on You Tube and I was totally irritated that the vlogger didn’t know what was on the front of the bag. (Yeah, I’m cranky today…deal.)
It’s a record. And not the turntables you will see if you go clubbing. It’s an old school record player. For vinyl albums! Love it - so cute!

Ipsy March bag

My March ipsy bag was quite a hit! I received a Nicole by OPI Roughles textured polish in the shade “On What Grounds.” I would describe this as Cinderella blue. It makes me think of her gown! I also received Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer .4fl oz. The packaging says this hydrating primer will even skin tone and add a youthful glow. Well, I can certainly use that!! Next up, I received a Bare Minerals mini Marvelous Moxie lipstick in the shade “Get Ready.” The Marvelous Moxie lipsticks and glosses are some of my favorites. They are creamy and moisturizing, and the lip glosses are quite long-lasting.

Lastly, I received a Be A Bombshell Cosmetics eyeshadow quad in “Bora Bora,” with a glistening brown, shiny rust shade, creamy gold and a gorgeous teal. Swatched, these are extremely soft and buttery with good pigmentation. I haven’t worn them yet, so I can’t comment on the longevity.
