I love CoverGirl mascaras typically, so I was excited to try this Flamed Out! CoverGirl claims this will increase volume and give your lashes a bold, winged out look. It has a wire brush that is supposed to help lashes curve up and out. There were pros and cons to this mascara.
I liked the wire brush a lot. I felt like it did a good job of coating my lashes. The formula of the mascara (this is important to me, I’m super picky about it!) was great. It’s creamy and lightweight, but not smudgy or heavy at all. One thing I would love to see changed is the opening in the tube that the mascara wand comes out of. This might sound weird and nitpicky, but I wish it was a little smaller. The hole is too big and I end up having to wipe off quite a bit of mascara on a tissue. This just seems a little wasteful to me. Not a deal breaker by any means though!
The brush has a curve to it. If you’ve tried Maybelline stiletto, it’s a little like that. I am still getting the hang of using the waved brush without getting it on my eyelids.
I didn’t feel like this Flamed Out weighed my lashes down, causing the curl to disappear. I have that problem a lot! My lashes are super straight and most mascaras I’ve tried seem to not hold a curl that well for me. Another plus is the fact that this mascara didn’t irritate my overly sensitive eyes! Yay!
I’m going to experiment with this mascara a bit more, and probably try layering it with another. I like a bold lash look and I think this mascara alone isn’t quite enough for that look.
CoverGirl Flamed out comes in 4 shades including Very Black Blaze, Black Blaze, Black-Brown Blaze and Brown Blaze. I have Very Black Blaze.
Have you tried this, or any other mascaras you’re loving lately? I saw cute little CoverGirl nail polishes last week (I think they were called Glosstinis?) in fun bright and summery colors. I wish I’d grabbed a few for summer pedicures!
Leave a comment below, and let me know what you have tried recently! Have a great day!
