I had high hopes for the NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash that I tested out for the past month. I have tried and love several other skin care products from NeoStrata before. Glycolic acid has always been my go to for chemical exfoliation, since I am allergic to salicylic acid. The Foaming Glycolic Wash contains 18% Glycolic Acid and 2% Lactobionic Acid, which is significantly more than other products I’ve tried. The glycolic acid smooths skin texture and unclogs pores, while the lactobionic acid encourages cell renewal. It’s recommended only for those that have been using a glycolic acid in their skin care regimen. The soap free formula is also free of dyes, and pH balanced.
Despite the fact that this is a solid product, with great ingredients for anti aging, it didn’t work out for my skin. I found it to be far too drying and irritating to my skin. I will note that my skin has been growing extremely sensitive to chemical and manual exfoliation in the past month. I’ve become unable to use a large amount of my skin care products that were previously staples in my routine.
If you have adult acne, oily, or textured skin and want to add something to fight break outs and aging, I would recommend giving this a try. It’s a good product, from a company that makes good skin care. It’s also reasonably priced compared to other high level glycolic products on the market. I would not recommend if you have sensitive skin, or are very dry. Have you tried this, or any other NeoStrata products that you like?
The 3.4fl oz pump retails for $40, or you can get a duo for $68. Find NeoStrata on Facebook and Twitter.
