I was pretty excited to try the new liquid Halo foundation from Smashbox after reading the description and swatching it in Sephora! It has a super lightweight feel, with a smooth texture. It’s on the thinner side for a liquid foundation (similar to Urban Decay Naked or Revlon Naked). I got shade #1, which is “natural vanilla for fair complexions” according to Smashbox.
I was a little surprised at how peachy it swatched, but once I had it on my face the color was fine. It seemed to counteract the redness I’ve been having on my cheeks lately.
I applied the Halo foundation with my fingers and it smoothed on easily and blended well. I did two layers, which I would say was still sheer coverage on me. It wasn’t dewy or matte, more like a satin finish. I honestly didn’t find that this foundation had enough coverage for me. Even using concealer, I like a bit more all over coverage than this gave me.
I set the foundation with a bit of MAC MSFN. After 8+ hours it did start to break down a bit and look patchy, with some shine breaking through. It also accentuated my dry areas a bit.
If you have great skin, or just want a light coverage, this would definitely be a great foundation to try!
Have you tried the new Smashbox Halo liquid? I’d love to hear your thoughts if you have!

Everyone I know who looks radiantly stunning wears Smashbox.
Since I favor a lightweight sheer, I think it’s time I get with the program.

I am super particular about foundations, but this one sounds promising for lightweight use.

I have a sample that’s the next shade up I think and it too is yellow. I wasn’t impressed but I’ll try it again now that the weather is a little cooler.
