NOTD - Gelish mini High Voltage

I’m linking up with the Nail Files again this week. Better late than never, right?!
This was my first time using Gelish mini High Voltage. It’s a hot pink jelly-ish base with lots of pink glitter. What I loved about this color, not only is the formula easy to work with, but I don’t need to layer it over another color. I used 4 thin coats in the picture you see. What I didn’t like about High Voltage, is that it’s a major shrinker. After curing, there was a noticeable amount of shrinking on my nail tips. Another thing I’m a bit disappointed about is the fact that I have only had this color on for 4 days and it’s faded quite a bit already. Next time I use this, I will probably layer it over another shade.

Do you like High Voltage? What’s on your nails this week?

The Nail Files - Weekly Link up NOTD

Hello! Thanks for checking out my NOTD! I’d love to take a look at your blog, so feel free to leave a comment or send me a note or tweet!
I’m absolutely obsessed with gel nails. My latest mani is my take on a pic tutorial from Gelish mini’s Facebook page.
The colors I used are Gelish Sheek White and Gelish My Favorite Accessory. The trick to getting the bubble dots, is to put a drop of the top coat sealant on (I used a dotting tool) and cure before you do the top coat all over and again cure with the led light.
I think it’s a great way to do something different without doing nail art. I am terrible at nail art(my hands are too shaky), and I am jealous of those of you that have such beautiful and unique manis! One thing I would like to attempt next is an ombre/gradient effect, and I’m also wondering if I can use tape for a design of some sort with gels.

What’s your favorite gel brand or color? Have you done anything unusual with your gel manicure? I’d love to hear!
Have a great Friday!

(please excuse my horribly dry hands and cuticles, nothing seems to be moisturizing enough lately!)
