Signature Fragrances - Deja Vu and Lola Perfume Oils

*sample provided for honest review*

Signature Fragrances is a new London perfumer, claiming to have the most pungent fragrances in the world. There’s a bit of mystery surrounding the details of the perfumes, as they are not available until September. I don’t have a list of notes, prices, bottle pics or anything specific. Oooooh, mysterious….
I have samples of Lola and Deja Vu to share my thoughts on.

Lola is labeled as MODERN TOUCH - sensual, salient, calm, fruity and sweet. I’d also like to add floral and innocent to the description. I *think* there may be orange blossom, maybe ylang-ylang and vetiver in there? I’m really curious to know what notes comprise this perfume oil. It’s a beautiful soft and feminine scent on me. It’s got great throw, and lasting power. A small dab lasted ALL day on my skin.

Deja Vu is described as OVERBEARING DESIRE - delicious, wild, fruity, spicy, warm. I also think this is a soft, smooth, delicious, edible scent. A gourmand but not too heavy. It’s heavy on the coconut (not beachy coconut, but sexy thick black coconut) when it’s wet. It stays sweet throughout it’s drydown. This baby has some serious sillage. I used a tiny dab and it’s potent. This is a perfect example of my perfect scent. Gourmand but not TOO sweet and cloying. Foody and sweet, sugary and reminiscent of pure vanilla extract. I am absolutely in LOVE with this perfume and will cherish my sample!

Prada Candy Florale - summer in a bottle

Prada Candy Florale

Prada Candy Florale is a light summery take on Prada’s Candy line. Personally, I think it smells nothing like the first two Candy scents!
This is a nice feminine floral sweet perfume. I’ve been reaching for it often as the weather warms up. That would be for two reasons,  it only lasts about an hour on my skin, but the other because it’s become my first choice for a happy, wearable scent for most any occasion. I would describe this as a sweet skin scent, and one that is effortless and light enough for hot and humid summer days.

How Prada describes Candy Florale: Exciting floral frag inspired by imaginary flowers that smell like candy, or a bouquet of flowers standing on the counter of and Italian ice cream shop. Romantic powdery limoncello sorbet top note, peony heart note, base notes of benzoin, musk, caramel and honey.

Prada Candy Florale is nothing like the original Candy fragrance, which I find to be a heavy gourmand scent that is far too strong for my summer perfume preference. Light and refreshing, dainty and feminine is how I’d describe Candy Florale. While it doesn’t have great throw or lasting power, that’s a positive in my book, for hot weather scents.

You can find Candy Florale at Sephora for $68 for 1.7oz edt or $88 for 2.7oz.

Violette Fumee by Mona di Orio

VioletteFumee-MonadiOrionotes: Lavender, Bergamot, Oakmoss, Violet flowers and leaves, Turkish Rose, Vetiver, Clary Sage, Opoponax, Myrrh, Cashmeran
Violette Fumee is available from Olfactif for $330 for 100ml edp.

January’s Olfactif collection brought Violette Fumee, from Mona di Orio’s Les Nombres D’Or collection. This is a scent that reminds me of a breath of fresh spring air. Considering the hellish winter we’ve had, it couldn’t have come at a better time!

Violette Fumee opens with a fresh green violet and citrus scent. It feels smooth and relaxing, like sunshine on an early spring day. The dry down brings a warmth and sweetness, less green, and with a whisper of lemon. My favorite way to wear this lovely scent is just a very light spritz on my wrist. I’ve found a full spray or two a bit overwhelming with violet, though I do get a much longer lasting time. A pretty scent, but with the high price tag, I’ll just be savoring my sample vial from Olfactif!

Have you tried Violet Fumee? Are there any scents you are loving for spring?

Bath and Body Works Forever Vanilla Rum

Bath and Body Works has released another scent in the Forever collection. Forever Red Vanilla Rum will have you swooning, if you love sultry gourmand scents like I do!

Notes in Vanilla Rum:
vanilla rum & black lily drenched in decadent créme de cassis
Top Notes: Sparkling Mandarin, Créme de Cassis, Black Lily
Mid Notes: Jasmine Petals, Sheer Gardenia, Apricot Nectar
Dry Notes: Rich Vanilla Rum, Seductive Musk, Black Cashmere Woods

I found Vanilla Rum to be quite a soft skin scent without too much throw. Even layering the body cream and edp spray, I had to reapply after a few hours. I don’t really consider that a drawback, just something worth mentioning. This is a limited edition, and I just noticed Bath and Body Works website has the Forever Red Vanilla Rum line for 50% off. You may want to stock up!

Have you tried Vanilla Rum, or any other Bath and Body Works scents lately that you are loving?
