Melt Proof Summer Makeup essentials

My melt proof summer makeup must have products start off with a skin treatment. Boscia No Pores No Shine T-Zone treatment is a lightweight gel lotion that instantly softens the look of pores, mattifies skin, and smooths skin texture. It has a slight scent to it, and you can actually feel a cooling sensation. I wasn’t a huge fan of the effect, but I do like the way it makes my skin look. It is supposed to keep pores and blackheads less visible over time. I haven’t used it long enough to give my thoughts on that.

Once the Boscia treatment has dried I spray Skindinavia’s oil control Makeup Primer Spray on my face. I love this and the original version!

My HG concealer is IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye because it covers everything. I use light under my eyes to cover my ridiculous dark circles, and neutral medium on any blemishes, discoloration and acne scars. It’s quite emollient and thick, so I prefer to use it under my foundation.

The next step in my routine is foundation. L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur foundation contains “opti-blur technology” which is said to instantly blur lines, spots and uneven texture. It’s not quite photoshop in a tube, but it’s pretty darn good! My normally dry skin has been a touch oily this summer, and I’m noticing my pores seem bigger too. Ah, the joys of getting older…. Anyhow, this foundation works best for me if I apply it with my fingers, and pat it on my skin. I start from the center of my face and just pat pat pat, then blend around the edges of my face. It’s very silky feeling, like a silicone primer. When I used it the first time I was certain it would be gone in an hour, simply because it’s so silky and smooth. It didn’t feel like it would hold up in the summer heat, but I was WRONG! This baby lasts all day and then some when I use the primer, and lightly dust my IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores over it.

Once the foundation has had time to set, it’s time to add some color! L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur blush is a really odd product, coming out of the tube in a dry gel-mousse blob. I wouldn’t even attempt to use a brush or sponge with this, fingers work best. It has a silky texture and sets quickly as a stain on the skin. L’Oreal has 3 shades of which I have the brightest, Soft Berry. There is no shimmer in this particular shade. Do you have any warm weather makeup or skin care favorites I should know about?

L'Occitane Jenipapo

Summer weather calls for a simplified beauty routine, along with extra sun and sweat protection! I have a few new summer essentials that have made their way into my summer beauty must haves!

L’Occitane Au Bresil Jenipapo sunscreen collection - I have been using the Protecting Body Jelly Milk, Body Oil spray and Face Protection Veil. I love how light and moisturizing these sunscreens feel. They don’t leave me with that icky skin coated feeling that so many spfs do! All items in the Jenipapo line contain extracts of the Native South American fruit. The L’Occitane Jenipapo fragrance is a lovely green fruity floral with notes of watermelon, pina colada, citrus and jenipapo fruit.

L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil has been my go-to for a long time for super soft legs when I shave. I’m currently using the Jenipapo Shower Oil, which is just divine!

For keeping my skin soft and exfoliated this summer, I am relying on my newest obsession, Belle Scents. I use the La Vie En Rose body scrub and body cream. They are loaded with Babassu Oil, Aloe Vera juice, Moroccan Argan oil and essential oils. The scent is lovely, not just an unadulterated rose, but rather an earthy, slightly herbal sultry rose scent.

Belle Scents La Vie en Rose

Summer makeup has to be quick and easy. I have been using a new spray makeup primer from Skindinavia. Their Makeup Primer Spray is silicone and paraben free, and helps reduce redness, uneven skin tone and large pores. This spray is meant to be applied before your foundation or CC cream. It will help reduce the amount of blotting you’ll need to do even in humid summer weather!

I always use my IT Cosmetics CC+ cream due to its ease of application, great coverage and sun protection. I can even put it on without a mirror in a pinch. I love the coverage (it’s nearly full coverage, with a satin finish) and if I set it with my Bye Bye Pores Powder it will last all day, no matter how hot and humid the weather.

I rely on Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Sticks for quick and fuss free eye makeup. These fabulous sticks are super easy to use, and you don’t even need brushes. They can be used as an eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, and liner. They look great smudged on and slightly blended with my finger. They last all day, and don’t crease or rub off. If I’m going to use eyeliner, I tend to reach for my Mally Luminous liquid eyeliner in Amethyst. It’s a gorgeous combo, when paired with my Twilight and Brown Evercolor sticks! I will top it off with a coat of Instant Impact Mascara.

For lips, I’ve been loving the extra moisture I get with my Pur Minerals Chateau de Vine lipstick and lipgloss. I like A-Lister for a bright pink lipstick, and Foxy for a bright coral gloss.  The age defying formula contains Resveratrol, a powerful anti oxidant.
