This is one of those manis that take forever, but the end result is worth it! This took me probably an hour and a half to do, but I loved the results. I started off with the gel base coat, followed by one coat of Gelish Starburst. Starburst is a sheer violet shade with a hint of blue flash. I’ve had this bottle for several years, and it leans more purple-pink now. Purple is an unstable pigment in a gel base, so you will almost always see fading and color changing in your purple toned gel polishes.
After Starburst, I added to coats of Tumberline Violet Gelish. Tumberline Violet is a very sheer pink base with multi colored glitters of different sizes. This is probably the most annoying gel polish in my collection. The glitter always sinks, and the base color is really thick. It works nicely if you are doing layers of different glitters though! After curing that, I did another coat of Starburst. Then I applied a coat of Water Field. This is a great clear based gel with different size silver glitter.
Next up, another coat of Starburst. Then I used Vegas Nights, which is a gorgeous holo topper. After that I applied two coats of Sledding in Style, which is a multi color and shape glitter topper from last winter’s Gelish release.
I promise we’re almost done! Just a coat of gel top coat, cure and we’re done! Needless to say, this Gelish glitter jelly sandwich was a lot of layers, so it was very strong! It held up really well, and I ended up leaving it on my nails for a week! What do you think of this mani?
