Hubalou was founded when curly girl and founder, Sarah Masciana, found out from her stylist that terry cloth and microfiber towels act like velcro, wreaking havoc on curly and straight hair. Traditional towels separate curls, can cause breakage and contribute to frizziness. I don’t know about you, but I’m not about to give my hair any more reasons to be frizzy. No thanks.
Sarah used a soft cotton tee to baby her locks, but soon wanted something a little more glam. (my kinda gal!) She tested a multitude of fabrics, and settled on smooth and silky bamboo fiber.
Here’s how I feel about my Hubalou: the lightweight fabric is really soft and smooth. The wrap is easy to use, and much more comfortable than a heavy towel balancing on my head. To be honest I hadn’t known that wrapping my hair in a regular towel was contributing to its frizziness. Once I used the Hubalou, I really could see the difference. My hair is thick and heavy, has some natural wave to it, and is color treated and fragile.
I have begun sharing my Hubalou with my daughter, who is growing her hair out. She has a massive, thick head of hair that stays wet for hours and hours if we don’t wrap or blowdry it. The Hubalou is definitely one of those items that I didn’t know I needed until I had one. You can grab your own Hubalou wrap for $24. I’m telling you, you won’t regret it!
The Hubalou hair wraps are eco-friendly, made in the US, and they give back 10% of profits to organizations that support basic human needs. Hubalou is a great company AND a great product, it’s a win-win!!
