I have been spoiling my hair lately with a few Leonor Greyl products that I was sent to test. This popular French luxury hair care line is completely free from SLS, silicone, parabens, and are not tested on animals. All products are safe for color treated hair, and contain natural UV filters to protect hair from sun, saltwater, and chlorine.
The products combine the most high quality natural oils and ingredients to give hair hydration, nourishment, strength, and softening. You can customize your hair care routine no matter what hair type, and concerns you have. I was sent 6 products to address my dry, color treated, thick hair.
My Leonor Greyl routine
I begin my luxury hair care experience with the L’Huile de Leonor Greyl as a pre shampoo treatment. You can see in the photo that it solidifies, but you can run the glass bottle under hot water to warm it up. This is a great step to detangle, nourish, and add flexibility to hair. I leave the oil on for a minimum of 5 minutes, but it works beautifully if you can leave it on over night.
The next step is shampoo. I use the Shampooing Creme Moelle de Bambou (conditioning shampoo for dry hair), which is a low lather super creamy shampoo. It’s almost like using a conditioner, as it’s so gentle and moisturizing and leaves my hair soft.
Next up is one of the most luxurious hair masks I’ve tried. The jasmine scented Masque Fleurs de Jasmin treatment conditioner contains collagen, oils, shea butter, and jasmine flower water. A little goes a long way, even in my thick hair. I leave this on for a minimum of 5 minutes, but longer when I can. It rinses cleanly and doesn’t weight my hair down.
Once I’m out of the shower my next step is the Lait Luminescence Bi-Phase detangling milk and styling spray. This is a thick hair must have in my book. It provides weightless detangling and leaves my hair extra smooth.
If I’m going to wear my hair straight and plan on blow drying and using a flat iron, I love to smooth a small amount of Eclat Naturel Nourishing and Protective Styling Cream throughout my hair.
The Huile Secret de Beaute has been on my wishlist forever, and I can honestly say this popular oil did not let me down. This multitasking oil is meant for hair and skin, and can be used a number of ways. It makes a great oil mask pre shampoo, does a fabulous job of smoothing hair out before blow drying, and of course used as a moisturizing body oil. This all natural and organic oil is scented with lemongrass, tiare, and yucca. It’s a very soft citrus, with a powdery cocoa undertone to my nose and I adore it.
When I first got the Leonor Greyl products that were tailored to my hair type, I was afraid my hair would be weighed down from the rich oils and butters. I was shocked when this line gave me the most volume I’ve ever had in my hair. Having thick and heavy hair, I’m used to products not giving me volume. Since my hair is dry and color treated, I prefer to have moisturized smooth hair, rather than extra volume. Leonor Greyl products give me the freedom to not have to choose.
I can’t speak highly enough of the high quality products I’ve tried. I also want to mention that I really appreciate the brand making sure I am using the correct products for my hair type, and using them correctly. Leonor Greyl isn’t just great hair care products, it’s giving you the knowledge of how best to use the products that were designed for your hair care needs. It’s truly been a personalized experience.
