Frozen Inspired Manicure

Many thanks to Q-tips for sponsoring today’s story and encouraging me to create new looks using Q-tips® Precision Tips™!
I’m going to let you in on my favorite new beauty hack! Q-tips® Precision Tips™ make the perfect manicure clean up tool! Whenever I do a mani with glitter, either loose or glitter polish, I always need to clean up the cuticle area and nail edge. The Q-tips Precision Tips make my manicures SO much easier! I love the pointed tips for detailed clean up. I just dab the Q-tip in some acetone and run it around the edges of my nail.

I’ve also been keeping some Q-tips Precision tips in my purse for makeup touch ups on the go. They are a must for neatening up around the eye area, especially if you use eyeliner. They are great for adding an inner corner eyeshadow highlight, and just tossing the Q-tip when I’m done. I’m planning on bringing these fabulous little multi taskers on my next overnight getaway in lieu of eye makeup brushes. You can do a complete eye look just using Q-tips Precision tips!

I’m sure most of you have seen (or at least heard of!) Disney’s HUGE movie, Frozen. You may have the song “Let it Go” running through your head now because your kids sing it constantly. Or is that just me?! I’ve seen the movie too many times to count, and thought I’d do a Frozen inspired manicure! Elsa wears a beautiful blue sparkly dress in the movie, so I went for icy blue metallic nails with two glitter accent nails. I got a perfect edge thanks to my Q-tips Precision tips.

Sinful Shine Prosecco

Sinful Shine Prosecco

I finally stumbled on this hard to find beauty at Walgreens a couple of weeks ago. This is part of the Sinful Colors Shining Bright Off the Runway collection. This was the last Prosecco, or I would have grabbed them all! I was a tiny bit disappointed when I saw it in the bottle. It’s light gray/beige with gold micro shimmer. Pretty, but my hopes were high with all the buzz this shade’s been creating! I changed my mind as soon as I put it on my nails. What a stunning neutral polish! It’s a unique color combination, that I have nothing to compare it to. It’s a little thin, but I reached full opacity in three coats. It’s very smooth and super glossy. I find the Sinful Shine polishes hold up really well.
Have you tried Prosecco? Any Sinful Colors polish favorites? It’s such a great brand, with so many options at a super affordable price! It looks like they are on sale at Walgreen’s still for .99!

Green Jelly Mani – Rainbow Honey Salacia and Sally Hansen Sea Through

I am beyond thrilled with how this jelly sandwich mani turned out! I received the gorgeous Rainbow Honey Salacia in my September monthly mystery bag. I used two coats of Sally Hansen Triple Shine Sea Through from the Palm Beach Jellies. I then applied one coat of RH Salacia, one coat of Sea Through, and repeated that process until I liked the depth of the manicure. I’m going to pick up some more of the Palm Beach Jellies, now that I know they will work beautifully with my ever growing collection of Rainbow Honey glitters! You will have to excuse the chip on my index finger. I snagged it almost immediately after finishing this mani.

I haven’t tried many layering techniques with my glitter polishes yet. Any tips, tricks or favorite polish combos I should try?

Rainbow Honey Sugarberries
I couldn’t wait to test out my newest Rainbow Honey nail polish from the September mini mystery bag! The first mani I created was using one coat of Red Carpet Manicure nail lacquer in Strut Your Stuff, a bright cherry red. I used two coats of Rainbow Honey Sugarberries on top. This gorgeous fall hued glitter has deep red, gold and silver holo glitter. It’s so pretty and unlike anything in my collection! I feel like it may look better over a deeper red creme polish. I’m also going to try it over gold and silver. What do you think of this combo?

Rainbow Honey will be launching their next collection on October 1st! Check out the sneak peek of The Yokai below!
