New Year, new makeup! Sounds great right?! I’m over the more is more attitude I’ve had about beauty for years. I need to clean up my makeup room, purge unused items and simplify my routine. I’m going to start by trying out a few new to me items from Neutrogena that I recently picked up at Walmart.
My skin tends to be oily and acne prone. Even in this arctic below zero weather we have had this winter, I tend to get oily in my t-zone. The area around my eyes and lips however, is dry. Thankfully, I can mix and match my makeup to suit my needs with Neutrogena’s SkinClearing and Hydro Boost lines.
On my last trip to Walmart I picked up the Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder. This pressed powder contains salicylic acid, which my acne prone skin just loves. The powder can be applied wet or dry with the included sponge, but I like to get a more medium coverage by using a kabuki brush. I love how quickly and easily I can get a more even complexion, and cancel out the redness in my face.
I plan on trying the Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer for my under eyes, as I’ve heard such great things about it! I’m thrilled that the ultra matte lip look isn’t as popular as it was last year. My lips are so dry, I never really jumped on that trend. I’m more of an “apply my lipgloss in the car without a mirror” gal. I CANNOT believe I didn’t try the Neutrogena Hydro Boost hydrating lip shine glosses sooner. They are absolutely a dry lip gal’s best friend. They contain hyaluronic acid in the formula, to keep lips conditioned and smooth.
The shades I got are Radiant Rose, which is a cool toned pinky-mauve and SO my signature shade. I also grabbed Vibrant Raspberry, which is a super pretty and wearable darker pink. I am really impressed by the easy to apply formula that is packed with moisture. I will definitely be picking up more shades.
I am so happy to have simplified my morning makeup routine with Neutrogena. I love that I can mix and match from the SkinClearing and Hydro Boost lines, to customize my makeup needs.
