Most of you know how obsessed I am with doing my nails at home. In fact, I never would bother going to a nail salon anymore. I’ve got all the supplies and polish I need!
I was excited to learn about Piggy Paint recently.  Found at Walmart, and touted to be “As safe as mud,” this nail polish is the perfect alternative to using regular polish on your child’s fingers and toes.
The important info, from Piggy Paints:There are no toxic chemicals; Piggy Paint is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone.
Piggy Paints safe ingredients list: Piggy Paint Ingredients Water, acrylates copolymer, neem oil. May contain the following colorants (depending on shade): Red 34 Lake, ultramarines, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, mica, red 28, yellow 10, violet 2, zinc sulfide/copper, copper flake, orange 5, and red 22.

I have confidence in letting my daughter, Jaya, use this polish to do her nails with or without my assistance. She is not much of a girly girl , so when she wants to do mani/pedis, I jump at the chance! We don’t just do polish, but we go all out with our all natural Teadora scrub to make our hands and feet soft and smooth. After we apply our Piggy Paints, we follow up with Rainbow Honey cuticle oil and balm. It’s a nice experience, and it allows Jaya to relax and sit still, which is something she rarely ever does. I always look forward to how calm she is when it’s just the two of us, working on something together. (Bonus points for the activity NOT being about Minecraft!)

Jaya loves the movie Frozen, and wanted to created an icy blue glitter manicure like the one I shared HERE. She applied Tea Party for Two (metallic blue) with Glamour Girl (glittery purple) to her nails. She then polished my nails with Glitter Bug (multi color glitter topper) over my existing shade.

Adorable! I don’t have kids, but I know that when *I* was a kid I would always gnaw on my fingernails (ew) so this seems like a much safer, more kid-friendly alternative to standard nail polish.
