I’m excited to share a new (yet century old) hair care line with you. Madam C.J. Walker was America’s first self-made female millionaire, defying the odds and building a global beauty empire that encouraged and empowered women back in the early 1900s. The Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture brand is newly reimagined for modern women with all hair types and concerns. The products have been reformulated with natural, high quality ingredients to help you enhance your hair’s natural beauty. Madam C.J. Walker products utilize dual technology to infuse hair with two natural oils, the first to repair and the second to enhance styling. The time released ingredients benefit hair all day, and provide strength and protection where you need it most.
A product for all hair types:
Coconut & Moringa Oils: block humidity for a frizz free finish
Brassica Seed & Shea Oils: protect and smooth for a silky soft finish and extend straight styles
Dream Come True: mends damaged hair with strengthening ingredients and improves scalp health
Jamaican Black Castor & Murumuru Oils: gives curls and coils definition and intense hydration
I bleach and dye my hair, as well as blow dry and heat style it. As long as I take good care of my hair, and use gentle and moisturizing products, it remains healthy. I’ve found four products that fit perfectly into my hair care routine and help me extend the life of my hair color.
I chose to test the Scent & Shine Brassica Seed Oil, which is a natural alternative to silicone, without the build up. The naturally antioxidant rich oil provides shine, smoothness, and silkiness to even the most coarse, dry hair. This omega rich oil is thick, and a little goes a long way. It’s said to be naturally scented with spun sugar and red velvet. It’s not overly fragranced, but does have a warm baked good fragrance. I have found the perfect way to use this oil, and you might be surprised. I concentrate my application on the ends of my hair, along my hair line and scalp where I tend to get dry, massage my scalp and comb through with a wide tooth comb. I have gotten fantastic results by doing this and letting it sit overnight before washing it out, or just before my shower if I don’t have time to let it sit. I have to be careful to use only the smallest amount after my shower, and apply to the ends.
I apply a small amount of the Brassica Seed & Shea Oil Silkening Leave In after washing my hair. I only need the smallest amount of this lushly scented heat protectant cream. The Leave In primes and protects hair from the blow dryer and flat iron. I’ve actually found that I don’t need a flat iron if I use this and do a blow out.
On the second and third day post wash, my hair is still frizz free and straight. I usually add some curls to get a bit more volume on those days. Before I use my curling wand, I spray the Coconut & Moringa Oils Curl Refresher Mist throughout my hair. The scent of coconut, sweet vanilla and woods refreshes my hair and adds more heat protectant before I add waves. I have a feeling this spray is going to be a must have once it’s hot and humid.
Once per week after I do a pre wash treatment with the Scent & Shine Brassica Seed Oil and shampoo, I follow up with the Dream Come True Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque. Meant for all hair types, this rich masque will repair, rebuild, and hydrate your scalp and strands. It has a vanilla jasmine scent that is just intoxicating.
Below you can see my frizz free day two hair, plenty of volume and soft waves achieved with the Coconut & Moringa Curl Refresher and a curling wand.
I’m looking forward to trying a few more products from the Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture line.
All Madam C.J. Walker products are organic and cruelty free.
