Red Carpet Manicure’s Trendsetter is a gold and teal shimmer packed aquamarine from RCM’s Dazzling Gems collection. I haven’t seen the Dazzling Gems in stores since last Spring, but you can find them online. I love this polish, and wish I’d grabbed the entire collection! I’ve also been testing out Perfect Formula Daily Moisture for my nails and cuticles. This jojoba based nail and cuticle conditioner will strengthen, prevent splits and breaks, and maintain moisture and flexibility in brittle nails. I like that it’s a non greasy oil, with very few ingredients. It’s also colorless and unscented, if you are sensitive to fragrance. It also contains no parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, GMOs or triclosan. I’ll keep you posted as to how the formula works on strengthening my nails!
As promised in my last nail post, with Red Carpet Mani’s Ravishing Raspberry, I am back with more from the Summer Collection, Sweet Indulgence. Sorbet Soiree is a teal creme and Pineapple Premiere is a yellow creme. Yellow is the only color I hesitate to wear on my nails, because it doesn’t always look good with my skin tone. It seems to enhance the redness of my hands.
That said, I am really liking this super wearable shade! It’s between a pastel and a neon, and just beautiful! The formula, however, leaves a me a little disgruntled. First of all, my brush bristles were coming out, and some were bent. I’m guessing this was just a fluke because I’ve never had that happen with any of my Red Carpet Mani collection. The polish was really patchy and thin the first coat, the second coat was still a little too thin, the third coat was opaque but a bit too thick and streaky at this point. It wasn’t the worst formula, but I probably wouldn’t want to use it on all my fingers. Using it for nail art or accent nails worked out ok.
Remember my manicure from the other day using Red Carpet Manicure new non gel nail lacquers? It felt a little ho-hum after a day, so I added some bling! I used tape and Wet n Wild Megalast polish in Playing All Suits for some diagonal glitter. This is a fun polish, mostly purple and silver glitter with a few rainbow pieces thrown in. The WnW Megalast polishes are amazing and so affordable. If you haven’t tried them, don’t hesitate to check them out!
Next I added some dots using a dotting tool with OPI Bikini Zone from the Brazil collection. It’s a gorgeous purple duo chrome color with silver shimmer and a gray green shift. I think it was a perfect match for this mani! Do you like how it turned out?
I’m pleasantly surprised at how well the Red Carpet Mani nail lacquers are holding up. I can get a few days without any chips. That’s unheard of for me. Most polish chips the first day. Did you see the post where I showed other glossy shades from the RCM Nail Lacquer collection? Do tell, what’s on your nails this week?
Merry Christmas to everyone that’s celebrating today!!
Here’s what Jaya and I have on our nails for Christmas.
green glitter – Red Carpet Mani Looking Like a Million $$
gold foil – RCM Patent Leather Pump
red shimmer – Gelish Queen of Hearts
silver foil – RCM Scene Stealer
blue glitter – RCM Sapphire and Ice
I have Red Carpet manicure ‘Looking like a Million $$’ on my nails. It’s a beautiful emerald green jelly loaded with green glitter. I used four coats to get a uniform look, so next time I will probably use a dark polish underneath.
Do you have a favorite from the holiday polishes I used? What’s on your nails this holiday season?
I hope you are having a day filled with love and time with family!
