I blame Olfactif for my recent obsession with Sarah Horowitz Parfums. In July I received “Perfect Coconut Milk” from my monthly Olfactif perfume subscription box. It’s a stunner, which I reviewed here.
I loved the interview Sarah did with Olfactif, which you can see here. (Yay for East Coast girls!)
I’ve received three more Sarah Horowitz Parfum samples since. I chose Perfect Vanilla, Perfect Bliss and Beauty Comes From Within. All winners, yet I think any scent I’d have chosen from Sarah’s line would be love at first sniff! She uses a lot of perfume notes that are my favorites.
I’d love to give you my thoughts on the three gorgeous scents I tested. Here are the descriptions from Sarah Horowitz Parfums.
Perfect Vanilla – “Perfect Vanilla is a sumptuous, mouth-watering melding of five vanillas from around the world, made decadently inviting by hints of amber and blood orange.”
Perfect Bliss – “Perfect Bliss is a sultry melding of tropical fruits, white gardenia and vanilla, inspired by Sarah Horowitz’s honeymoon on the island of Tahiti.”
Beauty Comes From Within – “Beauty Comes From Within” is a voluptuous and inviting fragrance. Top notes of sweet lychee, pineapple leaf and tangerine introduce middle notes of gardenia and stargazer lily accented with white rose. Succulent vanilla flower, meditative sandalwood and warm tonka bean comprise a warm sexy base.”
Perfect Vanilla is a musky, rich vanilla. When I first tested it, it reminded me of high quality pure vanilla extract for just a split second, before morphing into something more sophisticated. It has more body and substance to it than I was expecting. I think this is a great layering perfume as well. It has great lasting power too, thanks to the amber.
Perfect Bliss is a perfectly blended happy, sunny scent. I would describe it as a beachy scent without the coconut. Innocent and soft, it’s a skin scent from beginning to end.
Beauty Comes from Within was my favorite of the three scents. I think its sexy, yet innocent. It has such a nice balance between the florals and fruits, with tonka bean and sandalwood to ground it and add warmth. The gardenia note that Sarah Horowitz uses is the best I’ve smelled in a perfume. It’s soft and sweet, without overpowering the entire fragrance. I also want to point out that I couldn’t even detect the lily in this perfume. That’s a good thing for me!
I’m anxious to try more scents from Sarah Horowitz! She offers some amazing services, including a customized scent, single notes to layer and experiment, and custom products.
I’d love to hear if you have tried anything from Sarah Horowitz Parfums.
