Tarte Colored Clay foundcealer

Earlier this week I posted about my latest foundation obsession, Tarte’s Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation. I have heard from Tarte that the foundation is only sold on qvc at this point. I have a little more information about the newest addition to the Colored Clay line, Foundcealer! This is also available on Below you’ll find a little more information. I’m looking forward to trying this, since I have had such great results with the CC stick and the foundation!

Will you be trying any of the Colored Clay products from Tarte? I’d love to hear what you think of them if you already have!

Tarte Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation

QVC Tarte Colored Clay Collection TSV

My routine with new beauty products goes something like this: receive new product, photograph and swatch product, then test out the product for a certain amount of time before reviewing it. Sometimes, I get caught up in the excitement of finding a new HG product, that I neglect to inform my wonderful readers. :(
That is the case with Tarte Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid foundation.  From the first time I tried it, I have not looked back. It’s a unique product, packaged in a jar that has a little mesh covered circle that you press the angled foundation brush onto to get product on your brush . The brush that it comes with is also unique, with its densely packed super soft bristles and angled shape. The best way I’ve found to apply the foundation is just a small amount at a time. The liquid is thin and dries quickly. I stipple it onto one area of my face then buff, buff, and buff some more. This is my first liquid foundation that looks better the more you buff! I love that you can blend it so completely, without having it slide around your face.

I would consider this full coverage, but I still use my IT Cosmetics bye bye under eye on any scars or marks showing through. It dries to a satin finish, which I very lightly blot. When my skin is super dry in the winter, I don’t use a finishing powder with the Colored Clay foundation. Now that it’s warming up slightly, I find a light dusting in my t zone with Tarte’s Amazonian Clay setting powder cuts down on sheen. What I love about this foundation besides the fabulous coverage, is how long it lasts (it doesn’t budge until you remove it!) and how lightweight it feels. While I love a good full coverage foundation, I find lately that many of my old favorites feel too heavy on my skin. Not so with this! I would also like to point out that this foundation has an spf 15.

I have tried this on my skin with no primer, with Tarte’s Colored Clay CC Primer stick and with my Vincent Longo Water Canvas Base/Primer

It works wonderfully with all three, but I prefer to use a primer. I have the shade “light” in the Colored Clay foundation and CC Primer stick. There are currently 5 shades available.

What Tarte says about the Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation:

The latest innovation in complexion from tarte, this liquid foundation delivers flawless full coverage as it smoothes over the skin with ease. Infused with skinvigorating and complexion-correcting colored clay, the antioxidant-rich formula helps to brighten, neutralizes the appearance of discolorations, and evens skin tone and texture. The lightweight texture blends and builds effortlessly with the perfect-application foundation brush, and the custom mesh delivery system allows for easy, mess-free application every time.

You can find Tarte Colored Clay liquid foundation on

I have not seen it at Sephora or ULTA, either online or in store. It also does not appear to be on Tarte’s website. I am in love with the Colored Clay Liquid Foundation and CC Stick! I have noticed that QVC has a Colored Clay Foundcealer and Colored Clay concealer and finishing powder duo that I am anxious to try. Tarte has some great Spring and Summer releases that are calling to me! Have you tried any of the Colored Clay products? What are some of your favorite Tarte items?
